by bryanhelmig 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago So what do you play and, more importantly, why? This is an offshoot of the article Finding 'The Tone' which is such a huge topic, it was difficult zeroing in on specifics.

by bryanhelmig 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago My Guitar I play a custom Fender strat. It started as a 50's Reissue Fender Mexican Stratocaster. I decided on a Seymour Duncan jazz humbucker in the neck and a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge. I bought a body, routed it myself, and painted with the wood grain flames. I love the sound. The jazz humbucker in the neck offers a smooth sound when I want it and the JB offers that bite. Together, they sound awesome and twice as fat as single coils. My Amps I have two tube guitar amps: a blackface Fender Bassman 50 watt head and a Peavey Classic 30 combo. They've both been retubed and the Peavey has a 12" Weber speaker in place of the lack-luster Blue Marvel speaker. The Peavey sounds great and is easy to move around but the Bassman is the star. My Effects I have an old Vox wah-wah and a Marshall jackhammer. I don't use them that often because I am more of a meat and potatoes kind of guy. When you run a good guitar through a loud tube amp, what more do you need? I do use a bit of reverb withe the Peavey to open it up. Last Edit: 2008/03/19 12:22 By bryanhelmig.

by gman92004 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago Oh dont get me wrong I love the valvetronix tones. But I prefer my Zoom just because its a lot easier to use and has more variety. I also get much better blues tones with the Zoom. Maybe I will. I have a lot of things I need to put on here don't I. Haha Garrett "Cinco" Durham Long Live the Blues

I think this is an excellent site for guitarists to inspire one another and just have fun playing off of each other. I hope it grows and we get a lot more than just what seems like the two of us on here. haha. But even if it is only the two of us I know I will still get a lot out of it. It has all the fun little addons you would expect from line 6. i had a peavy Bandit 112 but it started to crap out on me. Effects: I sometimes use a boss Ds-1 distortion but thats about it i mostly just use the built in Effects

by BryceStrecker 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago Excuse me if I don't know exactly everything about the guitars I own. I've only started playing for over a year and all the equipment I have was given to me. I have a Fender Squier Strat Affinity series, just a cheap starter for messin around..... which is all I can really do with guitar anyway. And I have an acoustic guitar, but I'm not sure what brand it is. There's a gold foil sticker with Kimberly on it so I'm assuming it's a Kimberly guitar, but I've never heard of a Kimberly guitar before, and I can't find a lot of info on it, but I know it's around 25 - 30 years old. As for amps I have a Zoom Fire - 15. And I don't really use effects, I like a clean sounding guitar.

by ADizzleFoShizzle 8 Months ago I've played pretty casually for a long time, and have never really gotten that far into anything. But I have: 1. Schecter Diamond Series Omen - 6 with the standard double humbuckers it came with. 2. A tiny and crappy little crate amp. (If anyone has any fairly cheap suggestions on a new one, let me know ) 3. A digitech RP-100 effects pedal.
